Essential oils are a fantastic, multi purpose product to have on hand for so many uses.
They are a 100% natural alternative to candles, which is why I love them, but they also have a whole host of other benefits and uses.
I mainly use mine in a diffuser. Many use them (myself included) for aromatherapy purposes – to relax, relieve tension, ease symptoms, energise or invigorate.
You can mix them with carrier oils and other products to apply them to the skin, you can add a few drops to your bath water, you even can use them to create your own room spray or cleaning products.
Today I’m sharing a few of my top essential oil blends with you – these are personal favourites I’ve discovered in the past few months.
- Lavender – Honestly, lavender stands on its own in terms of being the perfect essential oil for me. For a bedtime blend or relaxing bath, it is a must. Lavender is the perfect base for so many blends, so add whatever you like to it. I really like Rosemary.
- Orange & Bergamot – Such a yummy combination! I’m quite loyal to bergamot because it reminds me of my Mum. So this is a nostalgic one for me. Really lovely room scent.
- Orange & Cinnamon – A delicious, evening Wintery blend. This was used A LOT over Christmas, but is still very appropriate for cold February nights.
- Lemongrass & Eucalyptus – Or lemon/lemongrass with anything fresh smelling is a perfect blend for the morning time, or if you’re cleaning and want that fresh feeling in the room.
Can you tell I love citrus scents?!
Don’t forget, there are literally thousands of oil blends you can create. My essential oils came with a booklet detailing about a hundred, but of course you can find great recipes online as well.
Do you use essential oils? I’ve love to hear your recipes and favourite blends as well!
